Awami League: Utthanporbo 1948-1970 by Mohiuddin Ahmed is a popular Bengali Book and and History Book of Bangladesh. The Book was first published from Ekushey Book Fair 2017, Dhaka, Bangladesh and the book is about a Political Party of Bangladesh Which is Awami League. The Bangladesh Awami League (BAL) is one of the two major political parties of Bangladesh. On 14 August 1947, the partition of India saw the establishment of the Muslim state of Pakistan on the basis of the Two-Nation Theory. The new country comprised two wings, separated by 1000 miles of Indian territory, in the Indian Subcontinent. The western wing consisted of the provinces of Punjab, Sindh, North West Frontier Province and Balochistan, while the province of East Bengal constituted the eastern wing. From the onset of independence, Pakistan was led by its founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his Muslim League party. In 1948, there was rising agitation in East Bengal against the omission of Bengali script from coins, stamps and government exams. Thousands of students, mainly from the University of Dhaka, protested in Dhaka and clashed with security forces. The All Pakistan Awami Muslim League was founded in Dhaka, the capital of the Pakistani province of East Bengal, in 1949 by Bengali nationalists Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, Shawkat Ali, Yar Mohammad Khan, Shamsul Huq, and later Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy who went on to become Prime Minister of Pakistan. Amor Ekushy Grantha Mela (Ekushey Book Fair) 2017 Starts - New Books Updates

Ekushy Grantha Mela (Amar Ekushey Book Fair) 2017 starts on 1st February 2017.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the fair on the Bangla Academy premises on Wednesday. At the opening ceremony, she said every year people from every corner of Bangladesh attends into the fair as it has gradually turned into a grand reunion of Bengali Nation.
Sheikh Hasin relived her memories of the book fair during her student life at Dhaka University. She also told that Seminars and cultural functions during the whole month of February create a new craze and tradition. She handed the Bangla Academy Literary Award to 11 personalities at the inaugural ceremony. She thanked the Bangla Academy for publishing the biography of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Braille writing. After the inauguration, the prime minister went round the fair and visited several pavilions and stalls.
